Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle

Everyone adores our Bakewell Tart gin, so when we heard of a world-class gin that tasted like lemon drizzle cake, we were intrigued.

When we also discovered that it was a Sipsmith Lemon Drizzle, we couldn’t resist. (Confession – we also couldn’t resist because lemon drizzle cake is our mum’s absolute weakness).


Inspired by the citrus gins from the early 1900’s, Sipsmith have taken their classic London Dry Gin and layered on sweet sundried lemon peel, lemon verbena and vapour-infused fresh lemons (complete with some encouragement from a slice of Lemon Drizzle cake).

The key ingredients include:

Lemon Verbena – Grown in the Cotswolds garden of their Master Distiller, Jared, lemon verbena brings sweet, fresh citrus flavours reminiscent of the finest lemons.

Vanilla Pods – Vanilla pods are then used to lend the biscuity sweetness that you’d expect from the very slice of lemon drizzle cake.

Juniper Berries – Well, it’s a gin!

Bulgarian Coriander Seed – These bring a mellow spiciness and a long finish with hints of citrus and a hint of peppery ginger.

Spanish Ground Almond– Spanish ground almond is used to bring delicate spiciness and marzipan notes and adds depth and body.

Lemon Peel – Finally, and as you’d expect, lemon peel adds a subtle brightness to the citrus notes.
