How to Find Us

By plane, train, automobile, or flip-flop

The Bay View Inn overlooks picturesque Widemouth Bay, a mile and a half of golden sand and one of Cornwall’s top surfing beaches awarded Blue Flag status in 2017. So whether you’re planning on popping in to see us by car, train, plane, bus or flip flop, here’s our guide to getting here.

BY CAR

VW Beetle IconPop our postcode in your Sat Nav: EX23 0AW. If you’re staying in Bude, The Bay View is just 3 miles south and it takes about 6 minutes to reach us by car from there. We’re less than 30 minutes from Tintagel; the market town of Holsworthy lies 13 miles east; Dartmoor National Park is around a 45 min drive away. We have ample parking space, but in the summer even we can get full.

BY TRAIN

Tran IconThe nearest main rail station is Exeter St. David’s. Trains run regularly from London Paddington with an average journey time of about 2 hrs. From Exeter St. David’s you can either take the bus (covered later) or a taxi. Contact Bay Side Taxis on 01288 358 076 for a quote.

BY PLANE

Plane IconNewquay Airport, the UK’s fastest growing airport, has regular flights to a number of regional airports including London, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Teeside and Dublin. If you’re hiring a car, head North on the A39. Journey time: 1 hr.

BY BUS

Bus IconThere are plenty of buses between Bude and Widemouth Bay. If you’re coming by train to Exeter St. David’s, the 6 and 6A service runs from Exeter to Okehampton and then onto Bude. You’ll find the bus stop outside St. David’s station, just turn left as you leave the station for the “country services” bus stop.

ON FOOT

Shoe iconIf you’re on Widemouth Bay beach, we can see you! If you’re staying in Bude, head south along the South West Coast Path and you’ll see us tucked behind the coast road facing the sea. Just remember to put on sun cream in the summer and bring a spare raincoat in low season as the weather can change for the worse in a heartbeat.
