Surf Bar

Relaxing and informal following a significant revamp, with original art work adorning the walls by award-winning Cornish artists like Ben Cook and Maia Walczak, our Surf Bar punches well above its size.

Dingle Original Gin

We’ve got 55+ gins – including the world’s best

We love our gin here. And naturally we’ve got the very best: Dingle Original, world’s best 2019, Hernö Old Tom, world’s best 2017-18, world’s best flavoured gin 2019, Makar Cherry, best UK contemporary gin, Mason’s Dry – Yorkshire Tea Edition (yep, a gin that tastes like tea!), as well as a stunning selection of food and sweet flavoured gins to pair with our amazing food.

As you’d expect, our house gin is Cornish and we also stock some wonderful classic and flavoured Cornish gins here. If you’re looking for some serious ginspiration, check out our gin guide.

We’ve also got 2 very special single malts

As well as a great range of rums, if you don’t like gin you’re still in the right place. We’ve got The Lakes Artisan vodka, world’s best vodka 2019, and a couple of outstanding single malts: Cotswolds Founders Choice, Best English Single Malt 2019 and a 13yr old Irish single malt by That Boutique-y Whisky Company that picked up a premium class gold in 2018.

We serve local beers and a golden ale surfers adore

If you like cider, we have Rattler, Thatcher’s Gold and Old Mout Berries on draft. Beer wise, Amstel, Heineken Extra Cold, Korev, Birra Moretti and Big Wave, a tropical golden ale all the way from Hawaii (try it with a slice of orange). Naturally, you can get Guinness Extra Cold.

If you like your ales, we don’t have much wiggle room so always have on tap Doom Bar and Tribute. But on our third pump, expect an often surprising and sometimes exclusive guest ale too.

We have wines from all over the world

We have delicious white wines from Italy, Chile, Australia and New Zealand, hearty reds from South Africa, Spain and Argentina; as you’re in Cornwall, why not also try our elegant local fizz, Camel Valley.

We welcome everyone here – including celebrities

We have board games for the kids, treats for the dog, and a wood burner if you got caught out in a storm. You might even find the odd celebrity holidaying here or calling in after a film shoot. Last year was the turn of Daniel Mays and his lovely family who had just wrapped up filming Fisherman’s Friends. As you can see, our bar has had a makeover since then.
