Surf Bar

Wood-panelled walls. Eclectic music. Surfer-themed, Cornish art. High stools before slate-topped benches by the log-burner. Cosy family and pooch friendly tables tucked back from the inevitable hoopla affording board game intimacy or endless people watching opportunities. Our Surf Bar isn’t the biggest, but it certainly punches above its weight in terms of ambiance and décor – and then there is the choice of what to drink…

Ki Noh Bi 11th Edition

Naturally, we stock a wide range of premium Cornish gins: Tarquin’s, Curio, Pocketful of Stones. But we also feature fabulously flavoured gins like Jaffa Cake gin, Tarsier Oriental Pink or fruity gins like That Boutique-y Spit-Roasted Pineapple.

If retro candy is your thing, we have the gin liqueur tuck shop gins like Zymurgorium Turkish Delight, Three Pugs Cream Soda and Dr Eamers’ Love Hearts. Exotic tastes are also well-catered for: Dancing Sands’ Saffron, Dr Squid Ink, Amuerte Coca Leaf and colour-changing Sharish Blue Magic are all here.

We’ve got serial award-winning gins too, including Hernö Old Tom, the  most glitteringly awarded gin of all time, plus rare cask-aged gins too: Ki Noh Bi 11th Edition was aged for six months in an ex-sherry butt that held Karuizawa single malt whisky for twenty-five years. Only one thousand and two bottles exist, six hundred outside Japan, one right here.

Check out our gin guide for more information.

Rockstar Rums

If gin doesn’t gingle your bell (sorry!), relax. We stock the Rockstar spirits range of flavoured rums. Made with rum from Guyana’s legendary Diamond Distillery, just sit back and sip on their lip-smacking Orange & Ginger or Citrus & Salted Caramel rums – or if you’re feeling brave, knock yourself out with their overproof Pineapple Grenade. Find out more on our Rockstar Rum range here.

Talking of overproof, we’ve got a pair of outstanding single malts: Cotswolds Founders Choice, Best English Single Malt 2019, plus a thirteen year old Irish single malt by That Boutique-y Whisky Company that picked up a premium class gold in 2018.

When in Cornwall, try proper local Cornish lager (Korev), ales (Doom, Tribute) and cyder (Rattler). Or premium beers like Birra Moretti. We were also the first in Cornwall to serve Big Wave, a tropical golden ale from Hawaii.

BrewDog Punk IPA

BrewDog Punk IPA is pretty much everywhere – except in Cornwall, where you’ll be hard pressed to find it in most bars. One reason why we jumped at the chance to bring it down here.

In case you don’t know, BrewDog Punk IPA was BrewDog’s first big hit. A light, golden beer expect new world hops to give you an explosion of flavour with lashings of caramel and tropical fruit leading toward a spiky, bitter finale.

We’ve also got new Lost Lager from BrewDog too, a dry-hopped pilsner made with German Saphir hops.

We have delicious wines from Italy, Chile, Australia and New Zealand, Spain and Argentina; but as you’re in Cornwall, over half our wine menu comes from Cornwall, principally with wines hailing from 2 multi-award winning vineyards and wineries, Knightor and Trevibban Mill.
