Alfresco Dining

The only way to dine in Cornwall

Alfresco dining is the only way to dine in Cornwall. We first came to stay in Cornwall 13 years ago, staying in a B&B in Upton, just outside of Bude. As soon as we unpackd, we leashed the dogs (we have 6 now, but back then there were only 3) and took a walk along the South West Coastal Path to Widemouth Bay.

The sun was starting to set, so when we got there we joined the crowds sitting on the raised terrace outside a restaurant called The Bay View Inn. Indoors, the place was almost empty – everyone was dining outside.

After a friendly greeting, we took our seat and sipping a fine local ale and tucking into a homemade steak burger, we toasted the spectacular sunset with one thought: this is Cornwall.

Here are some of our favourite photos of our wonderful sea facing, alfresco dining area. Of course, the best ones can be found online, taken by Bay Viewers who shared some of the Bay View magic with us.

Enjoy a drink and let the view take you with it:
